Art Shine, the event promoter behind the pastel festival we told you about it a few weeks ago, is at it again, this time with the third edition of São Paulo’s Churro Festival (Festival de Churros).
There will be no less than 20 vendors at the event, and if you only know the traditional churro, you won’t believe the crazy varieties they’ve come up with in São Paulo. Yes, they have non-sweet churros, including a churro dog, pizza churros (!), and gourmet churros with unexpected fillings such as olives, chicken, garlic, and catupiry and cheddar cheese.
But of course they have a mind-boggling variety of sweet churros, with toppings and fillings including strawberries, nuts, powdered milk, peanut butter, Belgian chocolate, hazelnut cream, maraschino cherries, M&Ms and coconut flakes. There are round churro donuts and even frozen churros topped with ice cream and whipped cream … and this being Brazil, of course they have brigadeiro churros and Prestígio churros.
It’s all happening at CERET (Centro Esportivo, Recreativo e Educativo do Trabalhador) on São Paulo’s West Zone on Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and admission is even free.
